Identify the problem

Sometimes the hardest part is stating and understanding the obvious. It can be pretty hard to accept to yourself that there is actually a problem. Determining where and what the problem is if you don’t know where to look. Make sure that the problem includes you and that it’s not only that your friend/s are just having a rough day.

Take a look from their perspective

Talk to them. Ask them what they think and locate yourself in the shoes of your friend. Then think if you’re your friend what would you do?

Leave your friend/s alone for a little bit

Try not to bombard them with questions and demands. It is during these times that your friend is the most sensitive.  Give them space and time to think and breathe. It’s better to let them get the steam off a little bit. If they’re ready to talk, they will come around.

Consider the things you can do

If you know your friend/s very well, then consider the things you can do to resolve it. It can be talking it out over food or ask your other friend to talk to that friend about what’s bothering her. Every situation is going to be different. The best option is to try and communicate with them.

Choose an option and do it

It’s not just okay that you think all about it. You have to take affirmative action. Admit to yourself and to that friend if you have any fault and shortcomings. Best case scenario, they will feel better and you can encourage them to do the same thing too.

Wait and see

Let your friend think over it for a little bit. This kinds of scenarios cannot be rushed because emotions are involved. Take it slow and wait how and what your friend is going to do about it.

Accept the final outcome

If your friend decides to cut your friendship for good, then just accept it as it is. You have nothing to do about it anymore. You can’t force a person to change their decisions in life. The trick is to know to yourself that you did what you could do best with the situation and that you tried.
